Pandit Shrikant Bakre Ji, who trained Pt. Ghosh during his pre-teen years, was a saintly person whose musical genius and divine renderings left a deep impression on his young disciple. For the disciple, it was a unique experience to see his family host the Guru, who would spend every bit of his day musically, including long hours of riyaz, even while in the shower! Despite his demise several decades ago, Pt. Bakre Ji continues to hold one of the highest places of reverence and gratitude in Pt. Ghosh’s life.
