It was Pandit Ghosh’s beloved Mother and first Guru, Smt. Monika Ghosh Ji who sowed the seeds of the deepest respect and infinite craving for music in him, while also introducing him to a disciplined and dedicated approach towards undertaking his journey in music. A spiritually inclined, pure – hearted and down-to-earth person, an epitome of Guru-bhakti and an ardent follower of the Hindustani musical tradition, she not only gave birth to her son, but also taught him the values that make a life worthwhile, with music as the focal point.
